One of the biggest problems that we find when it comes to weight gain is food. Now, we aren’t saying that you should stop eating or anything like that, but it is important to remember that eating well is extremely important when it comes to staying healthy both inside and out. While we all know that eating vast amounts of chocolate can be damaging to our bodies, that doesn’t often stop us from wanting a few of those delicious candy bars every time we check out at the grocery store. Sales that pop up around this time of the year for Easter don’t help either. After all, who doesn’t like jelly beans or chocolate bunnies? I know I’m pretty guilty of eating a couple (dozen) jelly beans in one sitting. They just seem so small so it doesn’t cause too much of a problem, right? Well, in a perfect world maybe not, but that isn’t the way the world works, unfortunately.

When it comes to getting the proper balance of nutrients, it is important to remember that portion control and eating right are the two biggest things. You should only ever eat until you are full, not until you are stuffed. It is important that you watch what you eat and that you stay away from things like unhealthy snacks. Although it isn’t always possible, eating multiple small meals through the day has been shown to be more conducive to weight loss than the typical three large meals. It also should go without saying anymore that eating breakfast is healthier than skipping it. This is because it helps to kick start your metabolism in the morning so your body can burn fat through the rest of the day. Try drinking more water as well, including a glass before every meal. This will help with your portion control and metabolism also.
