If you are like me, you love certain types of food. I will admit my weakness is cheese, which is why my thighs are my main problem area. However, there are days that even cheese doesn’t hold my attention the way it normally does. If you have a complicated relationship with food, you aren’t the only one. Food is one of those things that can be seen so many different ways even by the same person just minutes apart. While I certainly don’t hope that you have a complicated relationship with food, I know that it is all too common to find yourself in a love/hate situation with something that you physically need to survive.
Eating disorders are something that we will never make light of here at ThinSculpting. We know how dangerous they can be and how easily they can fly under the radar. Not every eating disorder will see someone starving themselves due to body image or binging and purging every day. We often see other mental health issues go hand in hand with food issues such as anxiety and depression. You may love food but feel you aren’t worth it, or your stomach may be tied into such knots that you can’t even imagine putting something in your mouth. This isn’t abnormal and it definitely isn’t something to be ashamed of. It is, however, something to be monitored.
Another thing to consider when it comes to your relationship with food is the possibility of overeating. Many psychologists believe that eating disorders come from wanting a feeling of control over something and even overeating can fall into this category. When you overeat, however, you likely won’t feel great for very long and it can cause quite the spiral in regards to your mental health. This is why it is important to talk with your doctors to keep an eye on any issues you may have regarding your food intake.
Here at ThinSculpting, we understand how difficult it can be to have a healthy relationship with food. It is something that many people need to work on every day and it does get tough. We also know that you can get through it and still feel great about yourself if you do that work and let others help you. We would be honored to be part of that team that can help you feel great about your body!
